A6 Three Leaved Clover Cyanotypes
A6 Three Leaved Clover Cyanotypes
These are white clover leaves from my garden - they can be distinguished from shamrocks (which you'll find here) by their rounder leaves (shamrocks have pronounced heart shaped leaves). I try to find long stemmed examples because I love the way they intertwine with each other (a great excuse for not mowing the lawn). I also look for faded plants where the skeletal structure of the leaves & insect nibbles show through in the cyanotype process adding texture & interest.
Media: An original cyanotype on handmade cotton rag paper created from recycled T-shirts. Please be aware that the product images are examples only, since each piece is produced individually by hand making it unique & original. The artwork you receive will be similar to, but not precisely the same, as those shown. I aim for uniformity of blue, but again, each piece will vary slightly in depth of colour. Where more than one piece is ordered I will endeavour to match the 'Prussian Blue' tone of each.
Species info: white clover is one of the most prolific plants in Ireland. It's a great pollen and nectar source so very good for bees.
White clover meaning and symbolism in the language of flowers: In the language of flowers, white clover symbolizes good luck & fortune, prosperity, and protection. The flower's trifoliate nature is often seen as a sign of balance and harmony, while its white blooms signify purity and clarity.
