XXL Cow Parsley Cyanotype
XXL Cow Parsley Cyanotype
Unmistakable & always stunning, this gorgeous native umbellifer wafts in huge drifts on Ireland's roadsides, woodland margins, and dappled shady places. From April to June this gorgeous plant is a haven for pollinators who enjoy its clusters of delicately scented umbels, reaching over a metre in height at times.
Media: An original cyanotype on handmade cotton rag paper created from recycled T-shirts. My XXL pieces are made using some of the worlds largest handmade papers. This is a totally unique, one-of-a-kind, very special piece - I create a maximum of two XXL cyanotypes of each featured species per year. Please also note that this piece is for sale in other galleries & may not necessarily be available. In the event of it having sold prior to you making a purchase I will of course immediately issue a refund. Thank you for your understanding in this.
Species info: Anthriscus sylvestris, also known as cow parsley, wild chervil, wild beaked parsley, Queen Anne's lace or keck, is a herbaceous biennial or short-lived perennial in the family Apiaceae (Umbelliferae).
Cow parsley symbolism: Cow Parsley is also known as 'Bishops Flower' or 'Bird's nest' because it curls into a concave shape as it dries - this has led to a strong association with safety, sanctuary and refuge.
Please note that this piece is sold unframed & will be shipped in a large cardboard postal tube - the image shown is a picture of the actual piece you will receive, framed for illustrative purposes only.
